Mutual Funds in Pakistan

A mutual fund lets you invest in a professionally managed mix of stocks, sukuk or money-market instruments without picking each one yourself. Shariah-compliant funds invest only in screened, halal instruments under the oversight of a Shariah advisor.

How a mutual fund works

Pooled money

Many investors put money into one fund. A licensed asset management company (AMC) invests the pool on everyone's behalf.

Instant diversification

One investment spreads across many stocks, sukuk or money-market instruments, so a single company's bad news hurts less.

Units and NAV

You buy units. Each unit's price, the Net Asset Value (NAV), is published every business day and moves with the fund's holdings.

Regulated

Funds in Pakistan are regulated by the SECP, and assets are held by an independent trustee, not by the AMC itself.

Costs to check before you invest

  • Front-end load: a one-time sales charge on the amount you invest. Many funds charge none online.
  • Management fee / expense ratio: a yearly cost already deducted inside the NAV.
  • Back-end load: a charge on early redemption in some funds.

Exact figures are in each fund's offering document and monthly Fund Manager Report.

How to start

  1. 1Pick the risk level that matches your goal and how long you can stay invested.
  2. 2Open an account with the AMC online or at a branch, using your CNIC.
  3. 3Invest a lump sum or set up a monthly plan; many funds accept small amounts.
  4. 4Track the NAV and the fund's monthly Fund Manager Report; redeem when you need the money.

Funds by risk level

Risk levels follow each fund's own published risk profile. We don't show NAVs or returns here because they change daily. Use each fund's official link for current figures.

High risk

Equity, index and sector funds. Prices move with the stock market, so values can fall sharply in the short term. Suited to money you can leave invested for 5+ years.
